the homer in my opinion is bird that works as an individual, the glory will go to the elite bird. Now the 'bermingham" rollers work as a team.A good performance will show how much effort one put into the his kit

NO,berminghams lack the ability to home from any respectfull distance, and the size of the birds will not allow it

rollers are good for doing back flips in the air.

fly them a couple of miles away, ahha theres a very good chance you'll never see you bird again.

Have known of rollers returning home from 150 miles away. A friend of mine sold some rollers to a guy 150 miles away & the guy took them home & after a week tried to fly them. 3 hens returned to their former coop.
The old masters from England bred homers into their rollers to give them homing ability, tipplers to give them endurance.----------

Damn Rudy! I thought you cooked them or something!

Roller pigeons have no or poor homing ability. They were breed to roll backward. Although I have seen one in person (they are small breed), I honestly haven't seen one fly in the air. My friend's rollers got eaten by hawk before they got a chance to roll so I am still waiting for an opportunity.

Holy cow! Some of you guys really don't have a clue! Rollers are by far, a superior bird for one who enjoys watching and training hands on. You don't have to travel & they're way mor feed friendly. The best thing is you get out of the birds what you put into them.

All i can say to you Batman23,
is that you have to try it. Some people are in it and love it, and some are just into homers. You will only know if you give it a shot. Just make sure you get good birds when you start that way you won't disappoint yourself about trying it. What a good friend told me was "a lot of people try it and are given bad birds (birds that don't perform) they pull out of it becuz they think they'll never get any results, when they started off with bad birds from the start." I surely agree with him on this one. So if you are thinking about trying it, make sure you get birds that you've seen in the air or someone you trust. Just a word of advice.
