This baldhead comes each winter and hangs out he feeds on the fish in the drying up canal.
He doesent roll at all though! I have not seen any little hawks since he showed up.

That's a beautiful bird. Luckily, we don't have them around where I live.

We have those in spades in February thru March. Don't think that they won't take a roller. I've lost one to a Baldy.

Great shot. We get couple that migrate through. they do not hang around to long here. Intersting that you have noticed less small hawk movement around. Figure out a way to keep him around, maybe you will fly with fewer losses. He might get one once in a while but I bet he is less effective then the hawks. ---------- RT Williams

I wish we had a few of those here in the compton watts area sure would help with our bop problems. Maybe we should build a salmon pound in the mid of the hood.lol

You guys ever try the plastic owls they set around to keep the pigeons off of signs and buildings? Put em out after you fly so you dont freak out your birds. Might keep the hawks from hanging around so much. just a thought ---------- V99 blue sky single beat in cadance performing now earth beckons the winged drawn breath is let quickly forth orchestral movement follows
