Jerry, It is a 30 ft H style spinner. Pulled him last fall before BOP moved in. This will be his first year in the breeding loft. I have a brother which is a black w/f that produced some excellent spinners last year. Joe

My understanding,I've never heard "Andalusion" before?
That bird whoud be a blue bar tic, I get them when I cross black badges with my white family. Also get them on white, blue tic.
The whites are Bob Brown's, these badges are a cross that Bob did with Bill Barrett birds.-----

Quality, Andalusian is a product of the Indigo color factor. If you breed a bird with the indigo factor to a black (Blue spread) you will get some Andalusian colored birds. Indigo is a partial dominant factor, that is to say it will never be masked by another color factor. A bird must show indigo to produce indigo in its offspring. It will never be a surprise.

Jerry,
If you put a cock which has the indigo factor on your black hen. You should get about 50% indigo or andalusian offspring. I do not know how long you have been in the roller hobby or what your experience level is but I agree with Scott regarding color breeding. Breed strictly for performance in the air. Velocity, Style and Depth are what counts. Once you get to that level then you may choose to add some color but do it very, very carefully. Done wrongly it can set your program back years. Sal, Flew a lot in our local club in the 80s and 90s. Won many local flys then I used to fly in the WC in the early 90's. Lost interest in it because of some of the shenanigans of several area coordinators here in our region. Planning to fly again this spring if the hawks leave me with anything that is worthy of the competition. Raised 70 this year and have 24 left +14 solid flyers left in my holdover kit. All in lockdown now and will stay there for the next couple of months. Joe Beach

i also agree that performance come first !!!!! but the birds in my loft have already proven themesleves in the air so it time to do it in the loft now with that being said i like time try differnt things in my labatory . i kmow you should never breed for color but i like to try differnt things when it comes to breeding but performance always play a major part besides if you never make mistake how can you learn and progress in this hobby

As a matter of fact, I talked to him on the phone last Saturday evening. He said he had some Starley birds and I think he said he had some from you as well. Also some birds from a fellow by the name of Miller. Seems real happy with them. I plan to go out and see him this spring as he is about 2 1/2 hours west of here. Joe

Sal,
For some reason I thought you were one of the California flyers. Now that I'm retired I'm thinking of moving somewhere further south. My wife and I visited the Mountain Home area a couple of years ago and liked it a lot. Got to be somewhere where I can fish for walleye and crappie and play golf yearround. Northern Arkansas seemed loke a good compromise. Joe

Joe,
If your looking for a place with walleye, crappie and golf then N/W Arkansas would be a good place. You can find all the crappie and walleye you want in Beaver Lake. I grew up there and still go back to fish, since I live in S/W Missouri it's only an hours drive.
