What do people mean when they say they have "Paloma" birds. Do they mean 'Plona'? If there is a Paloma, what do Paloma birds go back to?

Andrew, I think they mean Plona. Stan Plona, to be accurate, was an old time breeder from the era of J.L. Smith, Pensom, Hilton, Evans et al. Raised some great birds. Joe

If I paid attention in Spanish class then Paloma means pigeon in spanish.
Plona, I understand, is a known breeder from Pensom's era.
