Almonds.. But I wouldn't breed almond to almond because especially in Indian Fantails, the eggs won't hatch or half usually will die while they are squeekers.. maybe breed an almond to an indigo or kite.. Good luck!

Almond to almond is bad it will produce birds dying in the egg or hatching out blind. The almond gene is lethal and breed together is a bad idea. Try to get you a kit or even a nice blue check. ---------- David Curneal

i don't open loft to breed almond to almond there is 3 almonds that i know of qumond (spelling) classic almond and the blue almonds that i have i'm pretty sure that the bird has to be a cock bird to carrie the almond gene i could be wrong i have to get my genetic tapes out again and watch them to make sure............. donny james

Canspinners, Almond X almond will breed 25% pure almond cocks, predominantly white and which generally have eye defects, 50% almond cocks/hens and 25% non-almond cocks/hens, e.g. kite, recessive red, depending on the genetic make-up of the almonds. Almond X black will produce birds with a grey/white ground colour and black flecking similar to a tiger grizzle, however the flecking on an almond increases with age unlike a tiger grizzle where the pattern remains pretty constant. Almond is a sex-linked dominant gene, so no "carriers". This link is useful for colour indentification and other info:
