what kind of vent are you thinking of Fresno ?
My floors are all wire with wire doors on the front. I get plenty of vent that way..

I think what your asking for is called a "soffit vent"! You can get them at any hardware store, Lowes, Home depot,ect...

Cut a hole and put wire or srceen over it. Use your head about placement and make a nice cut. Staple a dab of wire over it and voila`! One vent.

I build 90 percent of my stuff from material I have collected off of jobsite trash piles. I get a lot more satisfaction from fabricating my own things instead of using mass produced hardware. ya dont need anything real fancy. A 50 dollar table saw from a garage and a harbor freight compound miter saw.100 bux Hit the pawn shops and pick up a small compressor and a couple of nail guns. Another 100 then you are g2g. I have a trim gun that shoots 2 1/2 inch trim nails. With a dab of glue and a couple of extra nails it works great on 2x2s.
Go to the library and read a book or two on basic carpentry. These things we build are pretty basic overall. Paint upon completion and you have something to be proud of that will last for years.

Fresno the vent you talking about is not expensive pick it up at home depot I like that one because keeps rain water out but let air in and out and it looks nice.I put a wire on the inside so roaches don't get in..
