S.CHA, they are not squashing there babies they probaly have canker.. disease when they are feeding the young..i had a female like this and i thought the same way too..i was like why is she squashing her babies but then when they feed the baby and the baby is infected itll die and become motionless. (looks like the parents had squash theeir baby to death)..

Make sure you medicate you birds before you breed.Cancer,cocci, worms,paratypode,ecoil

is it that pair first year breeding? that could be the case..or where u are from..the weather.. also did the babies have a full crops when they got squashed? ---------- RollerNewbie

Make sure when you do medicate do it a month before this way by the time you do put them down they have clean up from all the medication and got their friendly bacteria back by giving them pro-biotic or yogurt .this way they are healthy and ready to produce healthy babies..good luck.. ---------- Ralph

i checked both birds and they seem fine. the hen is a 07 and cock is 08..aquired them from one of my friend but i'm guessing this was probably their first time...i live in MN and i have a heater on all the time and a light. can it be that i put some dewormer in the water..???

Put it in their water, 1 tablespoon to a gallon of water is what I use. ---------- Keep em Spinning Joe

One other thing since you live in MN, it is highly possible that the squabs just got chilled and died. They are pretty fragile in the first couple of weeks. ---------- Keep em Spinning Joe
