Scott, can you tell me if you see anything characterwise in this bird. I'm trying to understand. This is a serious question, not a pimp job.

Joe, I am not Scott and I do not want to be...LOL.. But to my understanding character in my book is in the air, basically how the bird acts on the wing. ---------- Sal Ortiz

Joe,by the picture just a good med. expression, niether too strong nor too weak, could be hot though if she is a little over loaded with roll. I would breed such a bird no problem if she was all I want in the air and stable. What I won't breed are birds with a weak expression even if they do show stability , keep in mind all of this is nothing more than an educated guess. ---------- Just my Opinion Scott

Sal, This morning in another thread he referred to character following pigment. I'm just trying to understand what he means. My experience with yellows for example is the same as his. That is in the family that I work with. Not to say there are not some good ones out there. I'm just trying to wrap my arms around this character, expression, pigmentation string. ---------- Keep em Spinning Joe

Joe That is what I like... cock birds that look like hens. Pictures are pretty deceiving three pictures of the same bird would be better. I can see a little of color on that bird ...Joe Bwinward

Yes Brad, it is an indigo bar. Its half brother is the Andalusian below.
Not sure you would call these color pigeons, they are simply blues modified by the indigo factor. Not very exotic. By the way this is naturally occuring color in Birmingham Rollers. ---------- Keep em Spinning Joe

Joe, nice bird ! My birds are all set on the check pattern no bars, it's always funny how people like to refer to them as kites and call it bronze. I actualy had a judge holding a indigo check, that told me that was what I needed build my family on and told me his full brother was junk because he was a Andy. I was told by my mentor to pay close attention to type ![ If it spins like it should it's the correct type] Do you raise many double factor ? ---------- Ty Vapor Trail Lofts

Because another breed was used to bring it in Joe,that is what a "color" bird is, as far as color birds go these are the best as the color is dominate and you don't have to keep breeding toward the mutt side to keep it,honestly though, that bird just looks like a smokey BB ---------- Just my Opinion Scott

You are right, they are very close in appearance. We will have to agree to disagree on the origin of the factor. That has been pounded pretty hard on this site ---------- Keep em Spinning Joe

Scott, many genes are ressecive or even sex linked. There is no need to go back as you put it. I don't know which gene you are refering to or where it comes from to have to make crosses. ---------- Ty Vapor Trail Lofts

I hope you didn't misunderstand, I meant show judge. A reputable flying judge is free to handle my birds and offer his opinion any time. Show judges don't know squat about BR. ---------- Keep em Spinning Joe
