great kiter too.has excellent control though.

great quality bird.

but it rolls kinda sloppy, plate rolling sometimes when comming out of the roll.

tell me what you guys think.

I think its best to breed quality birds that roll if u breed rollers that rolls sloppy or exit the roll sloppy you will continue to down grade the quality of the birds or strain u are working with. where u at in the chat room by the way?? lol.

Sunflower- Coming out clean, that has a lot to do with strong back cover. Coming out clean and breaking all has to do with the birds secondaries. JDA

Fresno if it roll sloppy plate rolling coming out of the roll than it can't be a great quality bird..unless you mean sometimes its quality sometimes is not ...what is the ratio percentage to good rolling to non good rolling..8 out of 10....7 ?

pr_roller,

its great at times but when it rolls really deep around 30-45 feet it tends to go kinda off.

but when it only rolls 5-20 foot than its a great quality bird,(to me)

How old is this bird ..if its real young it can improve .if its in a certain age already what you see is what you get..

its still just 4 months old.

it came into its roll really early,
only one month for it to roll.

that s young keep an eye on it and don't fly it everyday .try every other day and if you have more separate the non rollers with the one that are rolling..when they start rolling you give them a day of rest or two.good luck ...

My opinion and from my experience when you have a bird that young already showing you 30-45ft and it exits the roll sloppy like that,it's more than likely a roll down. He's trying to gain control at the end of the roll which mean's it's possessed by the roll and will eventually come all the way down and kill it's self.

To answer your question about breeding that bird.you take notes and in 1 year to 2..you will decide from the evaluation of that bird if its worth breeding to.because in a 1 or 2 yrs flying you will see if it has gotten better or roll down or bumps coming in or landing , tail rides .turn into an outbird ,,lost its quality ..keep notes very important .. and only the best your best you breed....sound like you paying attention in the sky ..that s good..

I agree with Ro. It sounds too young to be concidering a place in the stock loft. I`ve seen that here with mine, And if it were mine I`d just be wondering how long its gonna be till it does a big crash and burn.
Give it till next fall. If it makes it that far.
Good luck with it though. Funny thing is, you never really know with these birds. Just when you think you got `em figured out... Bam !
