I'd like to hear your opinion on blue bars ? I heard from a couple different guys that blue bars have to much control or better yet that they can resist the roll and hold back. I only own 1 blue bar right now I got her from Johnny Smith

Here she is she's on eggs right now!

Hope to get some blue or red bars from her.

Color has nothing to do with performance. It has to do with what you do with them. In other words what you put in it that is what will most likely come out.

If I get a Blue bar hen that is a roll down and breed it to a blue bar cock that is also a roll down. And I breed nothing but blue bars and all of them are roll downs. Will you think that all blue bars are roll downs if you get it from another person? The answer is No.

juanrollers, nice looking bird. Blue bars are the dominant color/pattern in my family, I love them. You will have to put that hen on an Ash Red cock if you want to get red bars out of her. Ash red is dominant to blue and brown, so a bird will be red to carry red. Won't be hidden by another color.

Thanks for the input guys. I did have a very nice blue bar hen years ago and she was a nice 25 footer about once a minute. I do have the one above mated to a red self cock so we'll so what comes out.
