I got Rollers, pair of homers, pair of Pouters and some Doneks. I keep the stuff Im going to breed in cages. The main loft is where most of the fostering is going to go.

At the moment don't have a kitbox but I will build 3 of them. 2 of them will be used for my Rollers the 3rd for the other pigeons. I don't plan on breeding a lot of the other birds only a couple of rounds to play with.

Hi Kevin,
I used to have several breeds. I have 2 lofts, each divided into 2 spacesand a barn with the upstairs "loft" seperated into sections.
Each breed, or family of rollers, had their own space.

Now I only have Rollers, the back loft has been converted into more kitboxs, accessible from the inside of the building.
The barn now only holds hay and straw.

I have roller, helmets, doves and the new "mini" indian fantail (Mindians) I have a seperate loft for the fantails. The helmets are awesome foster parents for roller babies and the doves just kind of hang out so they are all ok together during the "off" season and not breeding.

I try and keep them divided. I have doves, Red/Yellow racers, Indian Fantails, show rollers, and Birminghams. Birminghams and 100% the main breed. :)

I have several different breeds and keep them in seperate breeding cages. They are all performance breeds and the hardest part is getting them all trained. I have Birmingham rollers, Oriental rollers, Flying west of england tumblers and Galati rollers.

I keep a couple of homers around to play with. I just keep them with the rollers. I take them out of course when the rollers go out to fly. I use individual nest boxes, so theres no problem there. The homers are a lot bigger than the rollers but don't pick on them.
A couple 2 hens & a cock, the most I will have at any given time would be 6.

This is a no brainer. Sounds like a very inexperienced pigeon keeper.
I would try using alittle common sence...

Parlors are great for kids they are very easy to handle some find them a bit tough to breed but I found them pretty easy. Kevin ask all the questions you like, we all have them.

I agree with David. I keep Parlor Rollers and my 6 year old daughter loves going to the competitons. She gets to go out with whoever is measuring the distances and carry the bird back to the owner.
She even has her own pair and is going to compete with them this year.
