My birds been flying too low these past weeks..They used to fly high enough to perform..but some how their flying height drop down to a point where some of my deep rollers risking to hit trees or houses. I need some feebacks. Is it my feeding that's making them fly like this or something else?

Sounds like you have a bird or two pulling them down. Find the culprit/s and take them out. Birds should go back up. Good luck! ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

How long are your birds flying for. 15 - 20 minutes or 40 minutes? That should help out here if it is the feed being too much or too little.
It sounds like you may be getting them into a bad habbit. You do have some low pressure days in your area right now and that is good for flying birds. It sounds like your birds are older if you mention older birds might hit the trees.
I would fly them everyother day for a while and flag them up just as they come out to help get them up higher. If it is a bad habbit you let them get into, it can be hard to break but depending on the amount of flying time will tell us alot.
Your birds pick up bad habbits and good habbits, just like when you feed them in training you whistle or shake the feed can right, well that is setting a good habbit to them to know that inside the kit box is the only place to get fed. So likewise we can accidently get our birds into bad habbits like flying too low, too high or too fast ect. It does sound like you might not be feeding them enough, do they fly for an hour? or 15 m inutes? Bill C

all right thanks..i knew that probably my feeding was off. I agree probably one or two of my birds are also leading the kit into flying low too. well my birds usually fly between 15-30 depending on the day. So how do i know how much to feed my birds? I have a kit of about 15 birds.

Not if the climate is cold. 1 tblspn won't do. Try Wheat alone for 7 days. It will strip the birds fat and light them up to left up. Feel your birds and they will tell you if they are fat or not. Do you fly mixed kit (young and old). If you do, separate them for now. If none of the above, then it is the barometer issue and nothing you can do about that beside park their ass for a few days.

Hi Leng, You said the birds are flying 15-30 minutes so I would feed them more when they fly 15 minutes for sure. 1 table spoon per bird would be good and adjust accordingly. Give less if they fly over 40 minutes and more if under 20 minutes. They just have food on their minds as they come out to fly. I would be giving 1 cup to 1 1/2 cups of grain.
It is nice you can fly in Sacramento. Most are locked down right now. But new guys can get away with flying the first year sometimes until they find out where you are and they will be back. J Star is right if they are fat they wont want to fly either. The feed is the hardest part to get a handle on with these birds. Good luck with your birds. Bill
