I was just wondering what will happen if i was to breed a grizzle cock back to its daughter which is a mottle? would it throw there young off balance? or will it keep the gene pool tighter?

crazy man,
if you dont know what your doing, i suggest you not do it,

i tryed daughter to grandfather a couple times,
the youngs never stay, they just fly away in a few weeks after the come into their roll.

It will tighten up the good and bad qualities. I would not be afraid to give it a try and see what you get. If both of these are good birds your chances of getting good birds is probable. Just remember that inbreeding enhances the things you do not like as well. If you have been breeding for better quality you should have less faults to worry about, just remember that the bad faults will pop up from time to time. Cull these birds with the bad faults immediately..

Thanks guys,
but yeah i know that the genes will get tighter...but from a previous post i have read..it had said that if i was to breed two grizzles together..it will throw the young off balance..not sure if it will happen in this family i have but..im just curious..
so that mad me think...because since the daughter father is a grizzle..so will his daughter carry grizzle as well..?

Fou,
im not crazy..
your birds are flying away maybe because of bad management and training..
i may not know what i am doing..but its worth trying..experimenting and learning new things...

Thanks Mike,
so inbreeding will cause both bad and good habits? i guess it is worth a try like you said..it wouldn't hurt to try..
what i do wrong..will only gain me more knowledge on breeding..
i will as you say..about culling all the bad fault ones..

Also how your birds coming?

Inbreeding tightens up the good and bad genes like stated above.you ask because since the daughter father is a grizzle..so will his daughter carry grizzle as well..?
the grizzle gene will be in there when mated.. but breeding two grizzles together is a sure way of getting a whole lot of grizzles in your kitbox .when I breed a father back to his daughter or son back to his mom is because there is something I want to preserve in the parents gene that I like..In other words it has to be for a reason not just for the heck of it..let me know what comes out good luck,..
