I known a couple of peeps who fly this family on here and know a lil bout them from Milo and Dave talking on the chat yesterday about 888 and so on. However, I havent seen this family of bird fly yet or know much bout them. Can anyone give me a general brief info on how ken billings started this family and which families it goes back to. Info about performance would greatly help also.

Thanks guys!!

Kham,
My birds come from several sources but all go back to Pensom, Via Howard McCully. With the exception of a few birds added like #272 via Herb Sparks from Hugo Blass. I got the main 5 birds from, Dave Sanchez, doug and Dan Ouellette, robert Krenz, Kiser/Borges. They are not very good for new guys. Some famillies any Monkey that can hold a feed can get the most from them. My family isn't one of them! LOL you have to dig deep to find a bird that doesn't go back to one of my 5 foundation birds. In the family I started back in 1984!!I had rollers longer but this is when I started the current family I know breed. Hope that helps. KGB

I have KGB birds. They go back to Pensom, I have a some details somewhere, and I will have to find them. My info is sparse though.
My birds are the young from birds that Paul Fullerton, and Scott Campbell had. I got them from Brian Middaugh.
I like them. I have about 12 young birds that were hatched last year. They have a lot of control and a lot of Kit chemistry. I got super breaks if I flew just them. When I add my Jay Starley stuff the chemistry is off. But if I prep them for competition, which I have tried this winter a little, the two families can work well together. The feed can is important.
They take awhile to get into the roll. I have had one that started in fewer than 3 moths. It rolled down before 4 months. I breed open loft last year, and I think his mommy stepped out. He did not fit the profile in coloration, or performance.
My best young bird, has good velocity (can see a hole with the side view), about 30 feet when up, and if the kit is flying to fast or to low, he shortens it up. Solid bird. His bro/sis, is deeper, about 45 feet plus. He wing switches once when he goes deep, and comes out backwards. Fun bird to watch though. They were both Hatched in March, and a just starting to get good. They were rolling by 6 months, but did not get good till about
8 months. Just my observations.
I think they have everything a comp guy could want. If you want something beside blue checks, and Blacks, look somewhere else.

Kenny has done a great job with this family, there are a couple of master flyers due soley to his family along with many top ten finshes in the major flys includeing a 20 bird and a 20 bird national champianship, even though not that many fly this family, this is also a family that has stood on it's OWN,the best allready carry the entire package and they have prooven it.
Still can't tout it as being the cats meow though as these birds take a lot of work, and they are far from magical like you will read about other families here, but once they come together they can hammer and get the job done, GREAT JOB KENNY!
