i have a 08 turner/plona bird that has been flying for a year now and shes a fast spinner with great controls..she does around 10 to 15 ft but is not frequent or consistent..just glides half of the flight but when she rolls she one of the best one up there..is it b/c she is still a young bird?..should i giver her more time or is it a cull??..sort of new at this since i just really got into the hobby...

man, i hate birds like that,
they come into the roll super hot, but after a week of comming into their roll, they go stiff, super stiff!

i say time and patience.. some get more frequent as time pass..if it doesn't improve get rid of it.. this is just my opinion.. ---------- RollerNewbie

weird, i just posted something but it deleted.
but here goes again. Are the tail feathers spread when in flight? Mine werent. seemed like they had a broken butt bone or something. i've had 4 birds that were rolldowns in the past 2 years. 2 were hens and 2 were cockbirds. the hens didnt produce eggs anymore. the cocks didnt seem to be fertile anymore either. i culled all 4. ---------- PREP Lofts

i would give her until 18 months and see what she does my birds peck out at 18 months just give her that chance ...................donny james

alrite thnks guys on the feedback..ill give her more time then..i no its the last one of that bloodline b/c her parents were stolen...steve-moua, no i thinks her roller is normal as any other roller.. ---------- 530flyer

Steve, when that happens pull the tail feathers, or exercise the tail by spreading and gently rotating around for a weak or so until bruising goes away and bird can spread the tail on it's own, don't fly until it can open and close it's tail on it's own .
