I use it regularly and have it available at all times for my breeders, use only grain for the flyers! The birds drink more water on pellets and theie poop is looser and smells worse.

Been using it as an ingredient for years. If you use it regularly you dont have to feed grit. I use it as a mineral/protien supplement for my kitbirds also.

Roy (snakedoctor) Try using pro-vital twice a week.
Tightens up the droppings and reduces the odor. Also a little white vinegar in a spray botlle works wonder.
Just spritz a little on the perches or where ever when you clean the loft.I feed the breeders and stock birds Purina year round.

Thanks for the tip bman, I use pro-vital but it must have quite a bit of sugar in it, it creates a mold problem in the water founts very quickly, I sterilize every week and still have problems if I don't clean the waterers everyday.

It's 22 bucks a 50 here but I think it is worth it for the complete nutrition it gives the birds.

Hi Bill I got it at Sheldon feed by Chan house.I payed $22.oo or $23.00 dollars a sack the pellets are light so there is more feed per 50 pound sack. They only had the green.

Anybody in the L.A. area now of a place that sells the Purina pellets? I already tried purinamills.com it doesn't say anything about the pigeon pellets and it just gives Petco as the closest stores that sell Purina but they don't sell the pellets in this area.

Hi TimP I found it by calling all the feed stores in my area. Purinamills has a spot on it's site that has the name and # of feed stores that sell the pellets.

Tim,

Hope all is well. The mill has them, that's where I get them (Leach). A person can also get them at Jedd's.

Take care,

Mark

Hey Mark, I tried Jedd's they only have Leach pellets, I want to try Purina as it has less salt and fats which cause the birds to drink alot more water and the shit to stink alot worse. How is everything else going for you?

I allways found the Nutrina to be the best, low sodium and droppings like grain fed, use the 16 0/0 in the red bags

Mark, the red bag just means 16 0/0 lay pellets, I have used alot of different pellets and never got as tight of droppings, they don't use a heavy binder either so it is a softer pellet.

I agree 100% about the droppings. A cock or a hen that has been sitting eggs will always have that first nasty shit, but after they get rid of it, it firms up real quick. The babies in the bowl will have a nice pile of firm stuff around the bowl. Less flys too.

Leachs is 22%. A little too high for me. I'll keep a eye open for the red bag.

Ya Dale, I like the Nutriblend also, the smell seems to me to be considerably lower than others that I have tried. It is pricey but worth it to me. Mark I haven't heard of a Red bag, Green is 16% and Gold I believe is 19-20%.

Actually the green is 18% form what the bag states on the back, loaded with vitamins can't go wrong, will give you nice fat healthy squabs!
