-Hey Gabe just noticed the nice looking pen full of hatchlings ,nice birds by the way ,, But my question is I noticed you said you feed for 2 weeks and then they start on their own do you take from parents and hand feed with syringe type feeder ?? if so how old are they when you do this and how sucessfull is this verses the parents doing it till weaning Iam from old school and have always left with parents till weaning ps how many times a day do you hand feed --------- One of the few Virginia ROLLER BOYS

even i could answer this... u should put them on floor when the rest r eating and then after seeing them after couple times they learn.... or yeah feed them with ur hand put feed in ur hand and make them peck at it and keep doing this and they'll learn..with water just push beak into water till they start drinking

Thanks rollem for the nice compliment,to answer you question yes i take them away from their parents when they start to get feathers under thier wing the reason i do that is because when the youngsters know how to wonder around they tend to get in the hens nest and toss the eggs around at time not all the time. And yes i do use a syringe type feeder that is posted below i think is good to remove them and feed them myself i have the time to do it plus i feel i feed them way better than their parents will when thier ready i feed them for 2 weeks depending on the young some maybe alittle longer but when i feel its time to wean i do.oh forgeting roll i feed them 2 twice a day in the morning and afternoon at times depending how full thier pouch is in the afternoon.
