I ran out of Aurremycin and some one told me to try epsom salt diluted in water. I did and it worked. 1 tsp to a cup of water.
If you really love the bird take it to a vet and get it checked out. A lot of eye colds are very contageoius and could spread quickly through your loft. ---------- David Curneal www.freewebs.com/dcurneal www.saltcreekcustomstone.com

That is very contageous as stated by David. You really need to get that bird out of your loft. And if You can't get it to clear up send it to that big roller loft in the sky.

If you can fined a power that is used for pink eye in cattle from your feed store. It works on pigeons with runny eyes. It comes in a little yellow plastic bottle with a red cap that has a top, open top and squeeze a puff or two into the eye, should take care of it after one or two days of treatment. Try on the net if you cant find it at your local feed store, but that has worked for me.Sorry I don,t have the name for you. JDA

We went thru this question last month. Foy's .."One eye, one drop, one time"...one eye dropper bottle will last you a life-time. Excellent stuff..I used it on a homer hen this last week..given at 5 PM and she was back in the loft in 24 hours. For one eye colds...I don't care how bad...this stuff works well. 2008-2009 cataloge pg 51 item # 7051 $18.95 ...unless of course Tony sells something for this..then buy it from Tony. ---------- De Oppresso Liber

I have used the VET-RX the few times I have had eye colds. Works very well and stores well at room tempature in a dark location. As Hector indicates, put in eye, mouth, and other eye. The eye cold goes thru the sinuses so treating both eyes and mouth is beneficial. Wash your hands thoroughly after handlign the bird as you may pass it on to other birds. Inexpensive and alot of bang for your buck! Good advice on seperating the bird until healed or if not eliminated. Hope this helps Don M. Mac's Rollers
