4 or 5 days difference is good when switching eggs but I like the good pair laying 4 or 5 days before the fosters this way when I switch on them it will hatch on the foster before the time they think their eggs was to hatch.. ---------- Ralph

My pick would be #3,because #1 laid first and 18 days come around and they might stop sitting on them.

Tim is right if you gave me a choice I would had pick number 1 ...Cr250 #1 lay first so it will hatch maybe on the 14 the foster are waiting for the 18 so they will be there so they won't stop sitting on them. ---------- Ralph

lol i dont get how u some of u guys think #3 has a better chance when it is 4 days later...that doesnt give a better chance becuz they have to wait longer which they arent going to so like some other people i would choose #1 becuz they arent going to hatch earlier

mate them again 2 see if the cock is infertile then he can be a foster parent.no good wasting a good hen as foster parent if he is infertile.

Xrollers- If that remark is for me, I believe he edited the question after I answered it. Regardless, I would still say #3 if it was only three days after #2. The reason is, how do you know #1 will have milk four or five days before its supposed to hatch its eggs.
At least with #3, the eggs would hatch at the 20-21 day mark and the parents would be ready to produce the milk.
Anyways, I hope the thread help you make the decision. Good luck.

you can store eggs for 7 to ten days if you have a problem with timing with the fosters keep them in a bed of sand in about 55 degrees F.and turn them everyday two or three times a day to keep the contents from settling down..I like my foster laying with 2 or three days after my breeders, the eggs of the foster should have been lay within the 4 days cause they just might abandon the eggs if they didn't hatch on time and I had that happen to me before..and if the foster pairs lays more than 4 days after the main pairs that you want the key word is more they might not have enough time to manufacture pigeon milk for the squabs.. they should start to have pigeon milk just before the babies hatch and ten days later after hatching..If I remember correctly .... ---------- Ralph
