It usualy is the one in the lead when flying, sometimes it is hard to pick them out but if you can spot the one in the front that turns the kits direction is usualy the same one that sets the breaks up also. I have found the same birds to be my top perch birds also. ---------- Ty Vapor Trail Lofts

Super, Sometimes it takes a little experimentation. Pull a cpl of birds at a time, note any significant differences in how the team flys/rolls , like the flight pattern, the frequency, the cohesiveness of the team, where in the pattern do they break, simultinaety of breaks ... etc etc etc. Keep records of who you had pulled and what occured. I believe ofen there are multiple leaders within a kit. Pull birds in groups that are common, like all top perch sitters, or old cocks, or birds who fly in the front or middle of the team. By process of deduction you can identify leaders. Then see if the changes are predictable. Realize that based on condition of birds within team, season, sexual drive, etc., leadership may change too. Very few things in this sport are absolute or static. ... Good luck
