Were those birds with cocks about ten days before separating then?if they were that is the reason, now if not its normal for the hen to lay eggs when with hens they go lesbo...lol.. ---------- miss opportunity are the curse of potential well if opportunity is not knocking you build the door...

Yes, that is normal. I have a line that the hens will coo and chase other hens on a regular basis. On a different subject, chickens will stay lay eggs without a rooster yal know. Why wouldn't a pigeon do the same thing?
It is normal over here... What isn't normal is for the egg to be fertile.

Student, the reason they are laying eggs is they are overfed, cut down on the feed and they will quit trying to mate. Hector Coya-SGVS

Thats good sound advice from Hector, Student. Hens will go eggy when they are locked down even though there are no cock birds with them. Keep them lean and they will not produce eggs. Just like a world class female athlete. Their body fat is so low they seldom have menstral cycles. Joe ---------- J.M.Urbon Lofts A Proven Family of Spinners http://www.freewebs.com/jmurbonlofts/

Joe Urbon is right on. Keep the fat off them and darken your kit boxes. To much light and fat starts the hormones that will produce egg making. Steve
