You have Arron Johnson and Al Hunt out of BC , I'm sure there are a few more, many have birds from John Weins and call then Neibles but they aren't due to other blood crossed in from Hollingsworth I think it was. Many of The guys in Austrailia fly both Johns and Neibles, I had a few that he bred after Montys death and saw his breeders after Brian Krog got them when I was judging up in BC . ---------- Just my Opinion Scott

Toronto The Neibel birds would be hard to fly so you will not find many that fly them. Monty's birds go back to two strong families. The cocks side.. would be aBruce Cooper bird 3757 ..who's Dam was 514. 3757 father was 514 son as well. 514 a pensom bird if you want to call it pensom The hen side..8409 was a bird Don Miller of Utah.. used 8409 to mate to her half brother 92 and produce a kit that won The North Western International in 1989. Clint Hollingworth ended up with 8409 and 92 and Man by the name of Monty Neibel got birds off of 8409. 8409 went back to Plona/Smith birds. Who knows what Neibel birds are like now days. This I do know for sure my birds come from the 92 cock and they love to fly..very strong birds hard for a beginner to fly. bwinward

i fly neibel and weins. and yes they are harder to control. but at the same time, they are exelent rollers. the trick is how to feed them so they dont fly up high

re: Crossing Neibels with Plonas.
Has anyone out there experienced some luck with that biogenetic experiment?

Toronto, pretty much as Brad described, strong and needed to be managed like most stable families, much like my own family. I had a limited amount of that blood to work with so it was hard to get the potential of that family, the hen I had was in his last W/C win team. Kenny Billings got to hand choose a few birds after Brian Krog got them and he still has a small stud of them, from what I have seen is the good ones were very good. Many that had seen both John Weins and Montys birds fly several times seemed to lean towards Johns birds, but then they may have had better access to seeing Johns birds more due to he was easy to get too.

I'm sure Tony also appreciates taking up storage space for pictures that have absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand.

I have Monty birds and they are not hard to control.Don't know where you get that rumour from?just don't feed 'em more than a cup for 10 birds. When in flying shape, they are good fed on the Yo-Yo method. They are not as deep a roller as my birds with some Barrett blood crossed into 'em but they are frequent and great kitbirds. ---------- Kel. Santa Monty's birds would be considered as a stronger family in the rollers. They just take some managing. Just like other families of birds there is feed/fly methods that works and don't..just have to know how to read your birds and adjust. Jon Weins has been the Only man alive that can get the most out of Monty's birds...Brian Krog was going to show us how it was done..just having the real deal didn't help him..some people just have a nack for flying rollers and getting the most out of them. Have you flown in the comps? Sounds like your ready... If I was flying them I would keep in mind that.. a wiff of a popcorn fart may have to much fat contein in it..and send the bird into orbit. Saying that this particular family of birds is harder to manage ..is not a bad thing..it's more of a compliment. bwinward

Brad, I think that there is a little bit of confusion between control and pulling the most and peaking the team. I have played with the yo-yo to some degree and it is actualy a very very complex system when it comes to tweaking the birds. ---------- Just my Opinion Scott

Scott I don't like the yo-yo system. To complex..like you said. I use it for a short time now and again but not full committed to it..I like feeding more steady and adjust up or down small amounts for 90%of my feeding. bwinward
