Thanks for the photos. I am always intrigued by the South African's loft set ups. They don't use wood for building products like we do here. Wood building products is very scarce there. That is why you will see more brick and iron than wood and wire.

Hi
In SA we dont need to keep our lofts closed in winter as the coldest day could maybe be -1. Wood is also very expensive here so we keep to iron and wire.
PS:Harrison we keep the alarms for our houses not the lofts. If you have chicken you have problems.

I get you. My alarm is on the door so as it opens it goes off and scares the crap out of the scum bags.LOL. We get alot of loft thefts in the uk and its a sod when they take all you have. Our club secatery donna had a hole smashed into the back of her shed and they stole nearly a hundred pigeons. Including all her stock. They get most of the birds back but the shed they had been put into had food and dropings all over the floor. Also they had been rats in the shed. Sadley her birds caught samaneler and all died baring a couple of pairs. She has got her self sorted out now. That his the reason we have to alarm our sheds and put as many locks on them as possible. thank yours in roll harrison uk

I would hunt the suckers down and god be my witness they would be so,so,so,sorry. Now the weather over here is coming nice I like to leave my door open for my breeders and have a second section with a door and I padlook that . Its a shame, If a young lad said mate do you have a pair of pigeons I could have I am sure I could find somthing for them. But what it his these young lads have askd that many people if they have a spare pair of birds that they can even buy and they are told no. They get fed up of asking and think . No point in asking him lets just rob them. Like I said god be my witness but Here were I live alot of people wont help the young lads out they tell them to go away. I have been through it myself. I never stole birds there is no excuse for that but people need to supprt the hobby and help the young lads out. Just my take on things harrison uk

Excellent looking pens to house the birds in. I'm highly impressed!
Hannes Rossouw appears to be doing rather good for himself and his family. May he continue to do well with his birds.

hi scott birds are rolling 1st class but not working as a kit just yet.only small breaks at the moment but hopefuly the breaks will come.been battling to keep them low but had them flying great all week .but we are due some bad weather next week.so may not get them out for a few days.but scott the quality of them is really good.we think the perigrines are on eggs so have not been bothered by it for almost 4 weeks + that makes a massive diffrence when they are more relaxed.hope yours are getting there as its not too far away for your w/c flys is it.hopefuly hannes makes a good judge .as he certainly knows a good pigeon.ive seen some real good quality at his place.

Hi John and everybody there were no occasion for the fly but we have been visiting Hannes for the last 3 week ends or so. He is flying an extremely high quality kit at the moment which we show other people. One of the guys that were there last Saturday says the kit is giving him sleepless nights. Some of the best quality and breaks I have seen in a very long time. ---------- Jim "Mason" http://www.devilear-roller.co.za Member of NBRC

Good deal John, yea it's impossible to get potential when they are flying in a defensive mode from attacks, skys have been clear here where that goes but the weather is my worst enemy this time of year. This year I do have have one the best teams that I've flown in a number of years, but also have some real competion in this region from a couple of guys that have made great strides with the birds. So if I can keep this team in tact and cut my competion off at the knees, and if the suns and moon line up properly with Venus I should do ok if I get decent weather and I don't screw them up .
(hi scott birds are rolling 1st class but not working as a kit just yet.only small breaks at the moment but hopefuly the breaks will come.been battling to keep them low but had them flying great all week .but we are due some bad weather next week.so may not get them out for a few days.but scott the quality of them is really good.we think the perigrines are on eggs so have not been bothered by it for almost 4 weeks + that makes a massive diffrence when they are more relaxed.hope yours are getting there as its not too far away for your w/c flys is it.hopefuly hannes makes a good judge .as he certainly knows a good pigeon.ive seen some real good quality at his place.) ---------- Just my Opinion Scott

He mainly started with Ollie Harris and Ken White some years ago, back to the white and then back to the Ollie and he has been working with them over 10 years. He started his family with one red hen and today he is breeding with one son out of her and his siblings. ---------- Jim "Mason" http://www.devilear-roller.co.za Member of NBRC
