I put my young on the grass in the garden as soon as they have left the nest . I do this every day for atleast one hour. when they can just lift off the floor they go into the cage on the roof of the shed for a week o so and they the skys there limet. I hear of people and they leave there young in the shed for to long and let them out. This is a wrong thing bcause they will just fly up and away. Its like bringing a new bird in and letting it out the next day. You wouldnt excpect that to come back. Well its the same for the young that have never been out but yet they have the power and strenth to fly. We all learn by our mistakes. And I think that is the best way of learning. Good look you never no they could be on your shed when you wake up in the morning. yours harrison uk

I hate when that happens, it is a nail biter for sure, the way I handle such birds is to just pin the door open and let them work on out their own sweat time. ---------- Just my Opinion Scott

They aint gone till they are gone, at least thats what I keep telling myself LOL Obviously Jerry Location makes a huge difference, I'm on a hill with a high rigde back behind me and it is hard for my youngsters to loose sight of my loft which helps a lot, if you live in town with mature trees they can get lost very easily under the best of circumstances. Quite a few years ago I broke my leg severly, my only option was to let them get stong on the wing and then pin the door open,it worked well and I still do it at times. ---------- Just my Opinion Scott
