I dont know the exact history of the birds....but I believe they are Jac based....I flew his birds for years and they are good birds. I actually put a cock and 2 hens on THE NBRC auction last year...these were proven breeders...they too crossed well with the RUby ROllers and the Mort birds....I currently have a couple crosses in my A-team right now that are VERY good birds.....

Chuck is one of the guys to beat in our region when he fly's.....his birds have good depth and roll....and he has really improved on the speed over the years....

Like Paul said. they are Jac based with Ken Higgins as the most prominant breeder in the background but Chuck has put his mark on them and they are his birds at this point. He has been flying rollers for a long time and has been very sucessful. A very competitive flier. Joe

ps. I changed the breeder to Ken Higgins as Bill reminded me. I had a couple cocks from Chuck about 8 years ago and they both showed alot of Ken Higgins in their ped's. They didnt mix well with mine and were let go but they have worked for chuck for alot of years.

Chuck gave me 2 pairs of birds when I Started and Al Luna and Jaconnette were the most frequently occurring names on the pedigrees.

That little grizzle hen is a mean little B*%ch...LOL...Here is what I have found out of those birds...they come in from 4-6 months....the really show there stuff at about 8-9 months....they dont fall apart ...the one cock that I added in was in my team for almost two years and still doing it!!

You dont have to do a whole lot in the kit box....when they are well into the roll...I rest them two days and then fly...giving mix on the fly day and wheat milo on the rest days......for comp...straight wheat for like 10 days from the three day out comp day...then I give them mix and then rest for two..and they usually come out pretty strong.....I had other Chuck Roe birds too..but these are the birds that threw the speed and quality....that is why they stayed in my program...

I have had some of Chuck Roe birds since I started 7 years ago. I have a black hen 96-872. She is still laying eggs in 2009. Chuck got her parrents from Chan Grover R.red spangle au95-22338 says valentino on it the other is Blue check musffed Bcr 90-489 Al Luna from Chan Grover Boots. I think valentino and boots are the names Chuck gave to identify the birds.

I see a lot of Chan Grover, Scott Rice , AL Luna and Ken Higgin ( from Black rain )

I have found that these birds will throw a lot of frequency in a kit. All the birds I have pulled out from the origal four birds I got were all grizzles. I always have a few grizzles in my A team. They help keep my birds from skying out. They will cross well with anything that has Jacconette backgrounds.

Chuck has been one of the most consistant flyers in our area. He always has an active kit. Bill C
