I'm guessing it is a S pattern. Change feed, change leaders in the kit. Do you fly in the wind? bwinward

Mike, Weaken them a little with your feed. step two,fly half of them at a time and see who is the culprit leading them and remove him. If that doesnt work keep them in for two weeks. See if there are any birds trying to turn the kit for the figure eight. The rest are flying thru the turn just like flying thru a break. If you get them slowed down they might snap out of it. When they turn they should break or at least try. Thats where the men are seperated from the boys. The guys that put in the time and watch thier birds the whole time they are up know when and where thier kit breaks. if something disturbs that pattern, its your job as a fancier to find what caused the deviation. Weather, wind, flock of robins,a cooper, too much feed, not enough feed, Did a trigger bird or a leader bird get wing slapped during a break? These are but a few of the million things that could affect a single break or the fly pattern on a single run. Multiply this by 20 birds and 20 breaks then the fun starts.

You are flying a stiff amongst your kit. Break your kit in half and fly separatly. Identify the half that still do the S patern fly. Break that into a half and fly them separately and you will find the problem bird.

Mike, I would take them down a block or two and then release them all together. If that does not work I would start flying them twice or three times a day. Good luck bro... ---------- Sal Ortiz

Mike, if they have been flying that way for 6 months or more, the entire team has made poor pattern a habit. It will be extremely difficult to break them from this. The best may be to dissolve the team and incorporate it into other teams a few birds at a time. Be on gaurd though as they may influence the existing team to fly with the same poor pattern habit. ---------- Jon

The "S" pattern usually can be controlled by cutting back on protien or if you are feeding just wheat/milo mixture cut back on the wheat. Sal (post 2355) has a system I use now and then that sometimes works. ---------- Just My Take On Things

You probably will win, if that is what your mind is set on. But at what cost? I wish you luck in your effort. ---------- Jon

stop flying them on windy or breezy days period. fly them on flat humid days. the wind helps them with the twisting and turning.
