TO ALL:
There is a thread about Cliff Ball and circumstances surrounding a comp fly he was involved with. Just to let everyone know, it is NOT Okay with me to pursue such agendas and vendettas on this site, I will be communicating with the individuals who have brought this to fore, and if it doesn't stop, they will be banned.
I have been sent an email by a person trying to cause trouble between me and cliff. I talked it out with Cliff and we are good.
There are some ugly things that go on when families start feuding amongst themselves. I will not let this play out on this site. Any further posts that I believe are intended to hurt individuals or undermine the credibility of the NBRC and its volunteers will find the author banned from the site with no warning.
==
My DSL connection went down about 8:30AM or so my time (Central Time). Calls to the phone company indicated they were having problems with their equipment. So all day yesterday, there has been no access by me (or very limited) to the site where I could have nipped this before it got going like it did.
I even received a call from an individual warning me something ugly was going to be coming down. Now I see what he was talking about.
I have deleted the thread and have a call in to Cliff to speak with him personally about the matter.
Thanks to all for your understanding and cooperation. Don't let the agendas and vendettas between family members spoil your love and fun of the Birmingham Roller and the hobby. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

Actualy Tony I think that it was straighting itself out and showing that there was no wrong doing where that fly was concerned, which was a good thing because that rumor had floating around for a while. ---------- Just my Opinion Scott

My brother put a pistol to my head in 1993 over a bad family squabble.... and we have since made up.
So I'm pretty sure it will be okay between the people involved. Just takes a little time... that's all.
{P.S.} Thank gawd it wasn't loaded! Accidents can happen.
MEMO: We are visitors on this planet, we are here for eighty to one hundred years at the very most. During that period we must try to do something good, something useful with our lives. If you can contribute to other peoples happiness; you will find the true good, the true meaning of life.

Tony all I was trying to do was put some light on what went on because I was there and have this put to rest. And to give credit where credit is due to the people that have helped me out.
Thanks Steve

Tony. I appreciate your proactiveness on this. I put myself in a very negative situation and I try to live my life as far on the positive side as possible. It has been bothering me all last night and today, and still bothers me. You are a true representative of what roller fellowship is all about. This will still bohter me but I will take the positive and learn from it. Besides my family and job, rollers are my life and why would I be so ignorant to put myself in such a negative situation towards the hobby that is in my blood and I love so much. Sincerely, Don M. Don,Steve Its takes courage to stand up for the truth and it might hurt others but at the same time your trying to fix a mistake someone did for it wont happen again somewhere else . You did just that. Dont back down if you feel your doing the right thing. I hope People can use Common Sense when they try to twist, lie or bend the rules for there own benefit! And If they do be prepared to be mocked for you got burned with your own fire.

The contents of what I posted I will stand up for. It is the manner in which I posted it and the venue used that caused a very negative situation for me. Also abusing Tony's site and ground rules bothers me. So in the future I will continue to stand for the truth and what I feel is best for the hobby, but I will make sure and use the proper venue to do so. Don M.

A bad smell will always follow those who do or say bad and devious things. What is done in the dark will be eventually brought to the light. What is whispered via email; phone calls; letters; and talk will eventually be heard by all.
One of the worse things you can be in Islam is a whisperer and a gossiper in the Judeo-Christian world would be the equivalent.

Nick, I understand what was said in that email might upset some people but that was one person’s point view and opinion and you need to consider the publicly published source and why was it brought up to light. That person formed his opinion based on his observation and the things he had to go through which I have no knowledge of. However, I noticed his email was legitimate of the things that can not be done to help the fanciers because what it looks like to be a popularity contest in the RDs and the ECs level behind the scene.
Instead of people take it hard about what was said, they just need to look at what they can do to make the process better and valuable. We all get criticized in life in one way or another but we take that criticism to make ourselves better. If you think that your friends or family members don’t talk about you negatively behind your back, please think again. Life is one huge soup opera and this is part of our life.
I used to get upset when things get back to me of what negative things others said about me. Then I realized the reason it got back to me is because someone is trying to cause trouble and to suit his agenda. Therefore, I started to take that criticism at face value. If it is not valid, then I ignore it, but if it is then I make every effort to make myself better. I am what people think of me, not what I think of myself. People say look at the mirror to see yourself, and I say that I see myself through the people around me.

Jay,
I have no grief with George or Chuck. I don't necessarily dislike what they are trying to bring to the light and I support thier effort to do so. It is the other party that I believe is the whisperer; the deciever; the gossiper. ---------- Just My Take On Things

Jay I don't know how many members of RRDC saw my apology before the whole thread was removed but as soon as I was aware of what was happening I took full responsibility for that post back in February, and others that followed. I posted the same apology on other Roller lists. My e-mail account was invaded and hijacked without my knowledge or permission, yet it appears that Nick approves of this kind of behavior. Interesting.....Remember that many of us have a personal friend or two that we can vent our frustrations to regarding the politics and discussions of the roller hobby, and both parties realize that these emotions and frustrations are never intended to go any further. That is the situation with these e-mails that were posted to the general public. I have taken steps to see this never happens again. That particular post was trying to explain to a friend how frustrating and difficult it was to move the NBRC EC to address the questions many guys want answers to. For example.... helping clear up vagueness found in the fly rules, helping regions choose better qualified judges, helping judges correctly interpret the current fly rules; some of the very questions raised right here on RPDC.
The EC is a political arena and politics are an often misunderstood subject. If I could find out who feels what, I could better phrase questions to go before the EC. AND that post was, obviously, never meant to be public. I can tell you had I known, it was going on public forums , I would have the same sentiment but I would have phrased it much differently. I have also seen how downloaded material can be manipulated to say whatever one wants it to say and claim it came from me. So just beware. Cliff

What is done in secret will someday and someway be brought out. Any email I send and anything I say to anyone does not have to be held secretly. I am 65 years old and have never been embarrassed for anything I have ever said or done. Be honest straight away and you can claim the same. There may be people that will not like you because of your "in the face opinions" at first, but if your intentions are what they should be most will return to your corner.
I don't see the EC as political as you do, Cliff. I think it is because you are about politics and what politics can gain for you. If you play the game, sometimes you loose.
I have said enough. ---------- Just My Take On Things

Chuck, you both now have had a chance to say your piece. I expect that, on this board at least, you two will let things pass between each other so that the rest of us do not have to read anything else on this matter. I will simply remove it and pass out suspensions from 10 to 30 days. Beyond that, we'll see. Take care. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria
