got 8 of them that i just pulled from the nest. and 2 are eating good and all birds are drinking which is good.but there like 2 young birds that really are hooked on the other stuff, they dont even try to peak down at the seeds like the rest. but they attack the other chicks tryna be fed by mouth. so i know there really hungry. is there something that can be done speed up the learning process as far as getting them too turn too the seeds. right now i cover half of the wirefloor in my kit box and i put the feed in a small cup, and overfill it so theres seed on the floor. most birds are attacking the seeds but some dont. tonight im gonna hand feed them cause i know the havent got much too eat all day.all birds are full feathered wit little short tails. im real happy wit this little group here they come from a good round of birds. there were 11 of them but lost many too newbie parents!!!! leaving chicks too get cold not feedind them, and couple days ago iput the chicksout in the sun cause it was a nice day. i put the birds on the ground which happed too be a dumb move as my dog came in behind me and killed to chicks which really mad me mad cause hes been around birds all the time. thinking it was a cat that did it or some predator. just too find them hours later hanging out of the dog house. dogs do wierd shit.

Watch the ones not eating, I give mine about a day and a half to figure it out then I will put them back in with the parents for a day to get fed up good. After a couple of feedings, they go back to the training pen and try it again. Usually after once or twice of this, they catch on. Make sure they don't get to weak from lack of food or water.

My lab is the same way, she won't touch them in the daylight, but if I have a straggler come in after dark, she figures its hers. LOL Never trust em once they have tasted one, they will most likely do it again!

I can just open the back door and ask my lab if she ate a bird, and if she tucks her tain and runs, shes guilty, otherwise, she doesn't even respond to the question. She knows right from wrong, she just can't help it I guess!
