Hello
My name is Wade my son's name is Johnnie he is 10 yrs old.
We are New to the site and to pigeons.
We were looking for somthing to get into we both would enjoy
so we could spend some qualty time together
we downloaded some you tube videos and he loved it .
We started looking for a few pigeons and joined
the yahoo group missouri pigeon club
and was given Tonys name by another member
so i emailed Tony he is only about 45 mins. from us.
so we got together and he gave us a huge start in rollers.
Tony let us watch some of his birds ,we thought that was just AWESOME !
As soon as we pulled in the drive at home my son ran in the house
and said Mom come and see my birds with such excitement , it was great !
My son and I are very greatful for meeting a guy like Tony who is
kind enough to help someone get a start in such an rewarding hobby
and to take the time to explan things to us and give us so much advice.

I hope we can return the favor someday
We have started to make plans (on paper) for a loft for just pigeons.
I've been reading and reading this site and so much great info , learning alot .

Wade.... welcome ..every body in the hobby has the fond memory of that day when we fell in love with this avian wonder..all TONY asks if i may speak for him(but i am not big enough to fit in his shoes)is to return the favor when a person shows the itch

welcome wade and johnnie this is a great site and u could learn alot ,the time spent with ur son is priceless my club ,COACHELLA VALLEY ROLLERS in indio ,calif. is all about our kids most of the kids are starting their own kits.i enjoy the time i spend with my 2 daughters on our club flys and get together and just hang out.they grow up to fast.so enjoy the time with him

Welcome Johnnie & Wade...I know that feeling that excitement of when first starting out with these birds .My first rollers were giving to me free by a good man name Joe Marlette..Ahh I was 40 years old but the look on my face said I was 10..thats what my wife told me lol..I never had the father and son relationship as what you feeling now with your son but I know it has to be one hell of a good feeling ... there is a search button on top if you need to find information and feel free to ask any question that's why we are here for to help each other out..good luck....

To add to Ralph's post, there is also a heading at the bottom of the main page labeled "pigeon articles". Click on it and it will take you to a page with many interesting articles that are highlighted red. Click on them and the article pops up. Makes for some good reading there also!

Hi Wade & Johnnie it is truly a great hobby - Tony is like most other Roller Men they will give the shirt off there back if you just ask- I got my birds from Cliff Ball of N.Carolina and I'm in Amarillo TX. just three weeks ago Free just like you - just do the same someday for some one else- Enjoy the time with Johnnie They grow up so very very fast.
