Yea cv rollers, Ive had that problem in the past, as I have alot of red ants around my yard. Tony sells the stuff I use its called Prozap insect somthing. Its a powder and all you need to do is sprinkle it on the ant mound and around it. Then use it on the perimiter of your loft. I have solid floors in my kit boxes and main loft. After I scrape I sprinkle some on the floor then add some absorball kinda like "Catlitter" basically the stuff used for spills. But the ants and anyother little bugs will be gone... Good luck http://www.roller-pigeon.com/catalog/item/861199/1722819.htm Booker. ---------- "Home of the Ghost Town Roller" K.C.R.C

we use white vinegar - full strength, pour it right into the ant hills and around the lofts. it doesn't harm the birds but sure kills ants

az-je, Does this work on Fire Ants? I have about three mounds that keep coming back year after year. Everthing I've tried only seems to kill them for a little while.

Instead of using bug poison, try cream of wheat. Pour it on the ground a few feet from their anthill, once they find it they carry back home to share with the others. After eating the stuff, it mixes with the water in their stomach and expands to three times its size and blows them up.No more Ants LOL

A while back, some one posted a recipe for getting rid of ants. You can also use it in your house if you have a problem. Good luck.
“Several days ago I was having a problem with fire ants in the breeder loft and I remembered a bait recipe I got from my father years ago. I mixed some up and sure enough three days later they are gone. Mix 1/3 boric acid powder, 1/3 corn meal and 1/3 confectionaries sugar (powdered). You can get the boric acid at most pharmacies or Wal-Mart. Place a small amount in a dark dry area where your birds or other pets can't get to it. The ants or roaches take the bait back to the nest and end up killing it. Don't know if it will work on other pest insects. I never saw a roach in the house as a kid and till this day my Dad keeps a couple jar lids with this mix throughout the house.”

Jay, That recipe definitely works on roaches but then again I've never heard my Mom complain about ants either. My Dad has used that recipe for as long as I can remember.
