What is the best way to mark your birds for easier recognition while in flight. The bingo markers are not working well for me so I'm just trying to get a new idea. WHAT works for you guys???
Thanks

Norm,

I usually buy the hair spray paint during halloween at the costume shops.

Orange, green, red, yellow, blue, etc.

It works and does not stick or cause any problems with the feathers.

I even use it to mark the birds after vaccinations to let me know which ones were shot or need to be shot in the loft.

Many uses and works just fine, about $3.00 or so a small can. I wait until the stores close and have sales at the end of the halloween season and buy them cheap then.

Regards,
Bill from NJ

Like bill said. You can buy that stuff at the dollar store or walmat.

I also use hair spray coloring all the time. All the beauty supply stores carry it year round.

Purple, Orange, Green, Red, Yellow, Blue plus other colors (White does not work so good)

Works great and will wash right off with water, does not cause any problems to the feathers.

Thanks guys. The spray seems to work real good. Al and Bill thanks for a good idea as well as the others. Spray marks them real good and its very noticable so I would sugest to all to try it.

I use red yarn tied to the platic clip on bands. 4 strands about 5 inches long. I mark (2) birds every time I fly and take notes on those two birds.

Surveyors tape works well and you can usually get it at Lowes; Home Depot; or most hardware stores. Tie it to one tail feather. That way you are not pulling or cutting any tail feathers and it is easy to remove and place on other birds.
