hi all try flying it with your old birds maybe they lift a little higher than your y/brds.if its any good it will learn not to roll when so low or it will kill itself.no matter how fast it is if its bumping all the time its no good for the stock loft.

I usually rest my birds that are constantly bumpers for a month and like Donnie says feeding them up to give them time to mature but keep records also..its like a kid going joyriding and crashes sometimes they don't recover from it so you take away their license until they ready again..good luck.. ---------- Ralph.

joe v. Give him some time. He'll either deteriorate and cull himself, or he will mature physically and mentally, enough to control the roll and make a good bird for you. Cliff

Id try locking it up for a week and feed it all it wants. Then fly it and see what happens. ---------- Butch @ Sundance Roller Lofts

Maybe it could do better with more feed. I agree with Butch. Also there is often the age when they are more reckless, then they may stabilize. But bumping low is a very serious problem to me, and if you breed from birds like that it usually comes back to haunt you...again and again.. As much as I love speed, I'd have to say have fun trying to fly it, continue to breed the parents to get a equally fast, or almost as fast, but safe one. Paul G

maybe if i ask and reword my question i'll get a different perspective on this...well here it goes... "Have YOU ever stocked a bird that has bumped when it was younger?" It's young i know for sure. dont know how old exactly have to look in my notes but i dont think its going through the molt. thanks for the good stuff and info guys apreciate it. -joe v.

Thats really a tuff question to answer. how often does this happen? Does it do it comming out of the box from excitment or when landing? You say its bumping in your loft. Thats scary. The first answer would be no. But I'm sure everybody's had a bird that went to the breeding coop make at least one mistake. The call is really yours. Good luck.

yes it is a really hard issue for me also. it is not one of those rollers who roll down and have characteristics of roll downs that roll down out of the kit box or coming in to land because of excitement. as i mentioned before it is young and just started to really come into the roll, deep too, and keeps on bumping itself when the kit is flying low. its a star in the air but has that minor problem of bumping...of course there's a difference between roll downs, which positively aren't breed in the stock loft at all times, and difference between bumpers, which is another story of it's own. -joe v.

Truely good pigeons leave no questions to ask about, but being too hard is not the answer either, but nor is babying them by locking them up. Some birds will bump coming into the roll, but they should get over it quickly also, as for stocking, Not no but HELL NO , plus it is moraly wrong ---------- Just my Opinion Scott

Remmember if the bird is rolling with the right style if it hits anything it will not get up......just a thought...Glenn

I don't care how fast, deep, or perfect the roll bumping pretty well nullifies all of it. Especially for the stock loft. Same can be said about a non-kitter. ---------- Just My Take On Things

if the bird in question was that good if not the first but the 2nd time it rolled down the bird would have been dead fast rollers seldom get back up never mind stoking it kill-it

Sorry guys but I disagree, all it means is that they are completly locked up and can't unlock out of it and puts them in a more dangerous positition, nothing more. ---------- Just my Opinion Scott

If I cut My best birds to low. they'll stop rolling. My weak birds will start doing stupid stuff like bumping and rolling down.I say fly them hard and find out what you have before the comp. I should say, in My family.
