yes the hen will feed the young its just like when u seperate ur birds u take the cock so the hen dont lay more eggs. if its 16 days then it should almost or should be eating by itself. u shouldnt have a problem ...JMO ----------------------------

At 16 days old it should be wanting to eat on its own, but the hen will care for it just the same. It is usually the cock bird who is doing the majority of the feeding at that age, but in the cock's absents the hen will care. ---------- Just My Take On Things

the hen should feed the babie, if not you can always put the male back, then after they feed the youngs you can just take it out again.

I prefer to leave the cock and pull the hen as the cocks tend to be stronger, but also depends on how many rounds the hen was bred-plus you want to pull the cock to breed to another hen. Cristian is right. If the squab has acess to food it should start to eat some on it's own. The hen should feed it out as well. Could you wait another week before pulling the cock and by then the squeaker should definitely be eating enough on it's own.
