One of my breeders has got big poo balls on his toe nails and I tried to break it off and pulled his damm toe nail off.
He his bleeding pritty bad and I carnt think what to do to stop it.
PLEASE HELP?

Try some Superglue over the end of the toenail. If it is good enough for a surgeon, it ought to be good enough for a pigeon breeder!

harrison, apply pressure and hold it, the blood will eventually coagulate and the bleeding will stop. Then when things do slow down or stop, apply the superglue as suggested. Good luck. There is a product that is available from feed stores to stop bleeding like this but the name escapes me at the moment. Maybe someone can help with that.

there is a product you can buy called "bloodstop". or you can just dip the toe in a handfull of black pepper.

Tony,I think it's "quickstop" or something like that. You can use it on dogs when you cut the nail too short and hit the quick. It's a yellow powder.Dip the nail in and it stops the bleeding fast.

Theres a product called Kwik Stop, made by Dominion veterinary laboratories in Winnipeg ,for Grimborn pet specialities in Atlanta,GA. It costs around $10.00 for a 14 gram bottle.It works well on birds/dogs/cats.It is a topical styptic powder,simple to use.Harrison, you should be able to find similar product at your local pet shop.Glen.

To remove the poop off the toe nails...take a pair of plyers gently squeeze the poop from top to bottem then from side to side it should now break off with your finger nail...like cracking a nut's outer shell with gentle pressure...
