due to my brother-inlaws hound dog, animal controll came over to my mothers house today. they saw my brothers 2 rosters, the hound dog, and my sister's two other dogs, and my pigeons; (which is where my loft is at). anyways they cited my sister for having the dogs without licences, and my brother, for having rosters within city limits. but as for the pigeons, my sister asked and animal controll and they said that the pigeons are okay!!!
so far i have 2 pairs of breeders, and a kit of 4 birds. one pair is from tony which i purchase in feburar, and the other is of jack myers. i wouldve been crushed if they wouldve told my sister for me to get rid of them.
if anyone have more info on the bird bann here in sacramento, please let me know. other than that if i find out more info about, ill post it here!!!
thank you!!!

Dogs and cats do need a license and tag. Roosters are not allowed because of the noise they make. Pigeons don't make much noise, but they do poop a lot. It is against ordinance for your pigeons to poop on somebody else's property, however, so be forewarned.

This is where things can get sticky. In the Houston area we have ALOT of Eurasian Collared doves which are about the same size as a small BR. I was in the backyard one day and my neighbor called to me through the fence to tell me that I had a pigeon sitting on her roof. When I looked over I realized it wasn't a pigeon but a dove. I tried to educate my neighbor about the difference between the two but she could have cared less. On closer inspection I also observed that the doves had been crapping all over her roof and the fact that to the uneducated, it could have easily passed for pigeon crap.

I read a story about an old guy,I think it was Dick Belew, whose neighbor was griping about bird poo on her car. The old guy walked over scooped it up on his finger tasted it and said "Nope. Aint one of mine." Turned around and walked away. Said his neighbor never bothered him again. ---------- V99 blue sky single beat in cadance performing now earth beckons the winged drawn breath is let quickly forth orchestral movement follows

How true how true.
A racing fancier I knew had his neighbour complain that one of his pigeons had crapped on her washing which was hung out on a line to dry. He told her, "Tell me which one it was and I'll kill it" Pete.

I educate my neighbors without them knowing it sometimes they look up at what I'm looking at and say how you train them to roll like that and I say that's in there gene what I do is train them not to poop on unless inside their own home.they come out on an empty stomach so they don't have nothing inside them to empty out and if they go on people property they don't eat..so they unlike those other birds you see hanging around..they have class...---------- Ralph.

My old neighbor brought a rd over to me once. She was walking with it like she was holding a bomb. Said she didnt want to give it any spinal injuries. Bird was sitting in her hands clearly out of it but still ok. I took him from her, looked it over, pitched him up in the air and he took off to the loft roof. She was almost speechless. Couldnt figure out how he wasnt on the verge of death or at least crippled. Them old rollers are pretty tough.
