HI. 2 Days ago one of 2 eggs opened and the second egg was chipping and even had a small hole in it. When I had a look today it was still the same. I decided to chip the shell a little to help to squeaker along(its worked in the past). Well the young inside the egg was still breathing but a little blood come out of the hole. I no I should have just left it alone but it should have opened up before today as I haven't had this happen for a while. I hope the young inside the egg will be ok? What do you guys think? Yours in roll harrison uk hull.

harrison, I used to do the same thing once in awhile but I stopped because I figured if they were too weak to hatch on their own, they were always going to have issues. Make sure your hens are getting calcium.

harrison. l would have just left it alone. if the youngen isn't strong enough to get out the shell its self. it ain't worth saving. That's the first start in life. And once its out the egg. The youngen as got bigger problems to face as it goes threw life. it will be a weak bird any way. so leave them sort were they am
