Don't understand as to why in the past week and a half I have lost 6 young birds all around 1 1/2 weeks old. I have already gotten 20 young birds from the same breading loft that are well over two months and all have made it but one. Same feed same water just don't understand what I am doing wroung or is it something I am missing I hate to loose my young birds.

Steve, sorry to hear about so many birds dying. It would not surprise me if your adults have enteritis (foul gut) and are passing on pathogens (e-coli, salmonella) to the squabs. Heat and humidity may be playing a role in creating conditions that stress breeders thus producing the problem.
When a gut problem may be leading to disease, it is smart to use a med that treats the gut only. Neomycin 325 is something that will do this. I have seen birds respond within several hours up to 7 days for severe cases.
To know the exact nature of your problem, try using Foys: Droppings Analysis:
"Would you like to know if your birds are well? How about a unique service that 100’s have taken advantage of and are now “in the know”?! Send in samples of your bird’s droppings and we’ll analyze them for you. Here is what you do. On the day you plan on mailing the droppings to us, this is the best day to collect them. The freshest droppings is what we want. Go from perch to perch, collect some off the floor or in the nest box. Put these fresh droppings in 2 ziplock bags. We want a heaping tablespoon in each bag. Put these 2 ziplock bags in a padded envelope, available at the Post Office or office supply store. Do not mail the droppings in a regular envelope. We will have these droppings tested and in 3 or 4 days after we get the samples, we’ll call you with the results. It would be helpful if you could describe your pigeon’s health problems. If only 1 bird is sick, you can bet the others are also sick but not showing symptoms yet.
Please contact Foy's Pet Supplies at 1-877-355-7727 for mailing instructions."
Good luck. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

pelletts won't tell you what caused the death of the young one's. but it will give the parent,s all the vitamins to stop young bird sickness as decribed in the post (pigeon Pelletts). That a good read. check it out.

Would I not also see this in the breaders they all look fine and none as of yesterday have died. I did notice there water jugs that hang off a chain just off the flooring {Wood Floor} has been getting wet from the birds tipping the water jug as they drink more since it has been hot lately. Would this dampness case the problem?

Tony, Your not missing anything accept the fact that pelletts are heated to the point that there's no chance of bacteria. One things for certain don't feed medicated pelletts all your doing then is masking the problem. I suggest that possibly you may have picked up a bad lot of feed that very well could be contaminated. If your supplier bags them in poly weave bags and the warehouse in which they are stored is suspect to rodent contamination than you have been a victim of contamination. The best packaging for feed is in a paper out material with a vapor of poly propylene on the inside or ethlyene. If infact you have any problems with rodents and thier urination your breeders could be carriers of paratyphoid and if this is so than you need to treat them with baytril or a generic of it. I would recomend that you further contact a avian vet or someone that could do a feces sample to determine just what the cause maybe. In any case I hope you get this under control and get back to enjoying your birds.
