Got my butt kicked with a 47.3. They were too strong today, should of left their feed alone. I get them to perform better on any average evening with normal rations. Another lesson! LOL

Its about 40 mph winds here today, violent storms, large hail and twisters predicted for this evening, guess its probably the same in Missouri. Sure hope not, I would have to take a DNF!

47.3 is always better than a D.Q. or not having the guts too fly.

Thanks JT, I'm not too dissapointed at all in the birds, it was me. I had em peeked about 5 days to early. I just paniced and brought them up too much. This was only my 4th comp and I nearly had em there. I have a long ways to go, but I see improvement in myself as a manager. As long as I see that each year, I figure I'm a winner!!! I wear my pin proud.

Got lucky with the twisters, their on the ground but their about an hr sw of here. Think they tore up the town of Anadarko OK,they aren't done yet though. I got a good root cellar, room for us and plenty of birds! LOL

Sal,
My birds sucked on fly day. Never got anything going, flew too fast, spooked by something, very few scorable breaks. They just didn't have it. Norm Boettcher flew a hell of a kit, scored 585 I believe. Lots of nice breaks with excellent quality and depth.

Val,

Flew 9:30 - a 20 bird team on Friday the 22nd for our Prelim. 2nd flier on the List. Scored a little (well a lot) better than last year due to mother nature giving us a break right when we needed it. I still think I had a better team last year but just got screwed by strong winds that kicked about.

I sneaked in a photo when the guys weren't looking :)

Photobucket
Left to Right: John J., Bruce W. (nice back side), Alan D. (Judge from Colorado), and Dick K.

I flew right after John and scribed enough on the score sheet to earn 347. Had bigger breaks but Alan felt they were a little late and thrus came in the 5s, 7s, and 9s. I'll take those any day :) Biggest break scored was 14. A lot of 10s ands 11s.

1.2 for Quality and 1.2 for Depth. When will this hawk season end? Oh well, thanks for sharing the photos. You'll get them next time.

Last guy to fly in our region will be on Tuesday.

Thor
