Depends on the bird. Had a cock whose mate died 2 days after eggs hatched. He sat and fed the squabs out without missing a beat. ---------- Keep em Spinning Joe

Sunflower is right...depends on the bird...I had a cock that raised the young just fine without the hen...this same cock....sometimes wont let the hen sit at night....when the eggs are close to hatching.
As far as stress...it is up to the bird....as long as they are happy and healthy....it should be no problem for the cock...the hen does help feed..but the cock does most of the feeding...especially when the hen starts sitting on the next round. I have had pairs raise 3 babies with no problem.

Alohazona...My foundation racing pigeon hen was raised by her father, after the mother flew the coop, she was a 2 day egg.She was my first hawaiian born pigeon after returning back to the islands, from Arizona, riding a 6 year construction wave there. Thus the name Alohazona....Aloha,Todd

yes if you can't find a pair that can take the eggs they won't make it, must be within 3 days of the eggs in question for it to work.
the cock can't do it all by himself, he'll loose interest before they hatch I would assume. If the eggs were closer to hatching it might work.
Not much you can do.
