Hi everyone going into my 3rd year of back yard fun raising and flying rollers and so far so good never lost a bird other than to BOP joined NBRC,read books and articles and I see people with sick birds, what are the important meds I should buy and keep on hand.Loft size 10x15ft with 2 4x4 (old school)dark rooms-kit boxes very clean and neat (no mentors)don't know a single person with rollers up here or any where else. rookie from ct

Welcome rookie..., here is a quick list:

1: 4in1
2: Sulmet Liquid
3: Neomycin 325
4: Wormer
5: Chloratetracycline

Of course the old saying an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure:

1: Probiotics (Probios and Winsmore combined or ProVital alone)
2: Keep a dry loft
3: Keep mice out
4: Avoid overcrowding

Can anyone add to this list?

Tony,
If prevention is key, then I would definetly choose vaccinations.P.M.V,Sal Bac,Pox coupled with keeping lower numbers of birds[like you mentioned].Probably cocciodosis is the most common disease you'll see ,Corid is good for that, again at keeping illness at bay.....Aloha,Todd
