I think the one biggest problem with the WC final judge is the fact that the person who get to judge might not have enough experience of judging. Due to the fact where they live they do not get the opportunity to judge may competitions. I know for a fact that three of the last six years judges had very very little experience, they told me so.
It is a total different thing to judge your own kit and to judge a major competition.
One thing we need to remember about last year and the years before judging, is the fact that the half second rule was still in place and Brian told me he used that to the best of his ability, this year that rule has been scrapped and I can notice the change it has made in our region, one of the strongest regions in SA. As long as you are happy with your own kits performance, that is all that counts.
Keep them rolling !!!

Scott Do the current rules keep the bar up and represent the GOOD, BETTER AND BEST OF THE BREED? I gave you my opinion of RANGE of QUALITY. I started at 1.0 and went up . (World Cup Results) Thread Please expound on what is your opinion? What I see is a few men who want the minimum to start at 20 feet D, high X, or better for a 1.0 Q. Nothing wrong with that if the rules would simply say that , But they don't. Like Ken F. stated, until we define and vote to accept a new written minimum standard, we will continue to have a controversy when it comes to judging. Cliff

Turkeybuzzard, I gotta believe that there was some misunderstanding and miscommunication with what Hannes meant. I spent two days with him and we discussed scoring 10 foot birds and giving them a 1.0 for depth so I don't believe that stuff about him requiring 30 feet. Same with the "same wingbeat" stuff. He talks very softly and has a very thick SA accent. I had to have him repeat himself many times. Cliff
