Don't know if this is the same thing but my birds love it when there is just a tint of snow in the air. I love over cast days! Light drizzle really stimulates the birds to a peak. So does a tint of light snow fall. The birds are usually soaking wet when they land but boy will they put on a show.
Clear blue skies are great to identify the birds but all most impossible to keep them down in view. Well, unless the feed is right.

Thor you right about a clear blue sky is great to identify the birds cause under clouds they all look alike to me...no colors to distinguish from them. ---------- Ralph.

My birds love to fly on semi-bad weather, too, except that hawks love to prowl before and after a storm. Most of my birds that got killed was after a storm. I suppose the hawks were rather very hungry and very committed to have their meals.

My teams unquestionably do thier best on those days when it is moist heavy air. Maybe its a throwback to their land of origin ... I especially like flying them just after a rain shower. One of my best days I remember was when I flew a team in a snow squall. It had been snowing lightly off and on through out the day, a break in the clouds moved over with the sun shining. I kicked up the birds and they rolled well, in big groups and very frequent. The snow began falling again, and the birds upped thier game even more.
I rarely have issues with high flying on cloudy days. Especially those just prior to or after a storm. Clear blue and high barometric pressure are the days when my birds fly high and work seldom. ---------- Jon
