My kit box roof is made of plastic and the birds sometimes don't like to land on it because they slide. I want to fix it so they don't slide when they land.
I tried putting a small rug on the roof as a temporary landing pad, but the birds got skittish and would not come down until I removed the rug. Now I am worried that if I change the appearance of the roof the birds will not recognize it anymore.
But I still need to fix it so they don't slide. Anyone have advice or ideas? Thanks in advance! ~Karen

Clear laquer and a little sand should do the trick or glue some screen moulding to it from side to side so they can stop. ---------- V99 blue sky single beat in cadance performing now earth beckons the winged drawn breath is let quickly forth orchestral movement follows

I would use some type of spray or roll on adhesive and sprinkle a lite coating of sand over it.

Hey Ralph, This is my third year with the Endura roofing. I first thought the corrugated style would be slippery but it's not. I'm sure you knew to use the right roofing nails, so this is for anyone else that might like to try that roofing material. The lumber store will sell a roofing nail that has a small rubber sleeve or washer on it. When you nail the roofing, just snug them down. The nails should be left slightly loose so the material can flex. I'm really happy with mine and hope you like yours. Thom

Thanks guys - I'll try adding something to the plastic for traction.
The plastic I have is clear and I like it because it lets some light in. Here's a photo of my young birds in their training cage. It shows the roof:

I would get a piece of ply board the size of the roof and put roofing felt over it. And finish it off with the green trim that you already have around the back and side. It will look good. Yours harrison.
