Hi everybody I need some help. I am breeding at the moment and the parents are feeding a lot of water. Even the mother is full with water.

What I would do in this instance is to remove any grits and minerals thats available to them, and use a good probiotic in their drinking water.

I would do as Shadow suggested and then put garlic in water and some days ACV.that would slow them down and at the same time nourish them.. .. ---------- Ralph.

Jim: Just wondering if you are feeding pellets to the breeders? Most pellets contain a lot of salt and may be the reason for the water? Geo.

No I was not feeding pallets. I have given them good bacteria and protein for the last couple of days. It is just the one pair that is still feeding water.

Jim Reason I suggested removal of grits/minerals,is that they are apparently somewhat dehydrated, which is often caused by too much salt, and they do gorge on this stuff if their own body salts are somewhat low, salt is found in both minerals /grits,and naturally enough the dehydration will cause them to drink too much, you might try getting some electrolytes into that pair asap, and hopefully, its sorted out.

Normally it is just one of them, pull it for 4 days or so to dry up the youngsters and let the parent get back to normal.
