Go for it Donnie!
I'm sure a few of the scholars in our club would love to read it in the NBRC Bulletin.

Did you write that or you got the info from somewhere else? If it is from somewhere else, I think it is best to give citations or credit to it.
I am myself interested of that thing you call ro gene. I've never find one. It seems that rolling is not just one rolling gene.

Good morning RodSD....
I actually had written some of the above writings after doing some extensive research at the secondary level on rolling pigeons.
....and
The rest of the writings I totally forgot exactly how I came about acquiring it. I pieced all of the data together in the most factual format possible and thought sharing it with others would be a rather cool thing to do.
Hmm.... let's see here.
Let it be known that my incredible and undying love of the Birmingham Roller pigeon has driven me passionately to learn all I can about these magnificently marvelous acrobats of the air.
Allow me the undeniable privilege to reiterate something stated by Mr. Hans Roettenbacher.
Hans ===> "You can learn more from just being alone with your birds than you can by bull*hitting with other roller fanciers."
I totally agree with that assessment 100%! ....well any way
It's about 3:54 a.m. (PST) and I'm headed out back to my barn to check on my flock. I'm quite disappointed with my kit birds performance over the last week.... and I need to check on them as well as my breeders & stock birds.
I am a perfectionist when it comes to my birds, and I need for things to improve drastically in order to preserve my sanity. MEMO: A person possessing an accurate knowledge of and ability to learn from the past..., with a clear perception of the present... and where present trends are leading... quite often posseses the clarity of vision to foresee the future.

Good read indeed, and this part The harmless pastime of pigeon flying had been handed down from father to son over hundreds of generations among the Persians and Turks. Because it brought so much pleasure to so many, it was one of the first hobbies outlawed in Afghanistan when the hated Taliban assumed power there. However, within days of the Taliban's ouster from Kabul by the United States Marines and the Afghan Northern Alliance, Afghan pigeon fanciers emerged, selling pigeons to neighbors who were anxious to resume their previously-forbidden hobby.
More power to the US Marine's.. ---------- Ralph.

Ralph... speaking of the Marines (U.S. Military) and the Middle East, there's a fellow roller fancier in the NBRC who spent time in the IRAQ war effort and was featured in one of the NBRC mags with an IRAQI pigeon keeper.
Hmm....
Can't exactly remember who it was. I have an idea who it is. Their last name is a 3 letter word.
