I wanted to ask everyone to give prayers for the safety of Mort Emami's Family in Iran. I spoke to Mort Briefly on the phone while at the convention. Mort works for Weber University in Utah and is the director of International Student Affairs. He returned from a trip to the Middle East to recruit students to study in the U.S....He arrived HOME in the U.S. days before the Convention and was not in the mood or had the time to attend..although he had planned on it before he headed to the middle east.
Mort is a great Pigeon man and a great friend. He has focused more on his Iranian High Fliers then his rollers due to Bird of Prey...
I have had many political converstations with Mort and he is 100% American....but of course his heart is always in his homeland. Mort was forced to fight in the Iran and Iraq war and saw many of his friends killed during that sensless war. His love for the freedoms of the U.S. is second to none. Again...he is a GREAT MAN...whom I respect and would do anthing for him.
I spoke at the convention of how a little bird (pigeon), can bring all different walks of life together. Race, economic status, blue collar, white collar..etc etc...it does not matter we share the same love for this bird..the pigeon/dove is the true bird of peace and our hobby proves it....this is an example of a fellow pigeon fancier needing us to come together with prayers.
His Family is still in Iran and his brother is a farmer. I would like and hope that everyone on this list would give prayers for the safety of his family.

I can also vouch for Mort as I also know him and his family of birds. Having talked to him on the phone on several occassions, I can without a doubt say that Mort is 100% true blue and a true gentleman. My prayers go out to Mort and ask that the powers that be look after his loved ones. Tracey

I just got off the phone with Mort. He wanted to thank the people that are thinking of him. He just found out a couple days ago that his oldest brother was killed in a car accident...he was going to return to go to the funeral but his family advised him that now would not be the best time to return to Iran. He he hurting for the loss of his brother...but he is happy that his people are standing up to the repression....again...he is happy for all that will pray for him. I am looking into booking a flight to Utah in the coming weeks to have a friend by his side.....
He is also happy that the other countries...including the US are standing back and letting it all play out and not getting involved...he said this is a Family matter...meaning the country needs to take care of its own issues and Iran needs to take care of this itself...any outside influence would not help...so with that being said...again...pray!!
I hope some of the Utah fliers on this site will give him a call and let them know he is in there thoughts...if you need his number...email me privately...Thanks,
