How come we dont have more flys in our region? I am a member of the NCRC and I dont think that we have any more flys on the scheduale untill the fall fly. That sucks especially since the summer just began. Lets put something together guys and have some fun. What do you say? How about an all 09 bird fly?

Hi Will,
that seems like a strange question to me.
we fly march april may sep oct nov + the wc and ff. That is 8 flies per year. I schedule the local flies and paul and scott the WC and FF. I have invited you to fly with our local group and I know we could have used you in the FF and WC. Here is the invitation again to you personally that you are welcome to join us.
If you would like to arrange additional flies, please do! I welcome it and would love to see your birds fly more than once or twice a year.
Best Regards,
Ken

Well Ken check it out. If I had birds to fly for the WC and FF I would have been right there with you guys. I love hanging around you guys and learning. But unfortunately I had NO birds to fly. Mr Cooper had damn near wiped me out completely. The oldest birds I have were the ones that you saw on the convention fly and the oldest bird up there was 4 or 5 months old at the oldest. I dont even have one 08 bird in my kit and I have have 4.
In fact it was so bad that I spoke to Paul about not being able to fly because of hawks and he told me to talk to Joe Urbon about flying some birds out for me. I did and he was nice enough to take on the challenge and give me feed back. I thank him greatly for that
In closing, Ken I have birds to fly now and I told myself that I will never put myself in a situation where I dont have nothing to fly. I made sure of that this year. So whats up with 09 young bird fly? Lets get a date that will be good for our guys and have some fun. ---------- BIG WILLY TOPP FLIGHT/NCRC

Hi will,
I understand about losing birds to hawks. I lost 10 of my hen kit this last spring trying to get ready for our first club fly due to BOPs.
I like your idea of having a young bird fly sometime this summer. I would be into it if you are willing to put it together. Call 5 or 6 of the guys and get it going early so we can avoid the worst of the heat. I sure don;t want to embarrass myself again putting the birds up when it's 90 degrees like I did for the convention.
Best Regards,
Ken

Will I was thinking the same thing , for us new guys thats a way we can get pointers. Plus by me only haveing young , I hear its not cool to fly young in competion ....but I will if giving the oppertunity to, but for guys that are not in competion I think its a good way to interact with each member and get some feed back on our birds ... GREAT POST BIG WILL Count me in any time.

I also think it could be fun. But I do not want to fly on Sundays or go on flys on Sundays. I dont fly my own birds on Sundays either. Its just the way it here at my house. I have two boys and we read the Bible and I am very busy most Sundays. I often fly on Fridays with the big flys when possible or Saturday though. Hope it does not matter. Thanks Bill C

Sounds great man...that would be fun....maybe we can get a plaque for the club that wins and the name of the top flier...and whoever wins keeps the plaque...and it passes around...
Keep up the good work Willy....and I am sure Ken or I can help you with logistics because we have done it before...Dwight Wallace could help too...he has done a good job on fly schedules...
