I cant beleave it,the Falcon left about the middle of March,Sunday,it showed up by surprize and took my best bird in my #1 team,i didnt fly monday and tuesday ,hoping he was just passing by,i flew today and he took the next best bird,i can see it now hes back till next march. This is unbeleavable,i thought they where protected by the Migratory law, these arent Migrating,,, What am i sopose to do now lock down till next year? How are we going to enjoy our hobby , when every year is getting harder to fly. Hector Coya_SGVS

Hector, I know what you mean. I have 2 months out of the year that I don't get hit. from April 15th until june 15th I am good. Well that means there back. They started to hit me last week and have lost 4 so far and 3 with medical problems.. tail feathers missing and there crops tore up. I have been dealing with this for 20 years and have no solution. I even flew from my in-laws for 4 years, but they finally found me there. I started to fly from my house last year, having been gone for 4 years and the 1st time out was hit. Your right they don't migrate from here either. The last two tmes out I have been flying real late in the afternoon... 6pm and have not been hit, but the birds didn't go too high . I have tried everything!!! The only good thing is that I will be moving when my wife retires.. 4 more years. I feel for you brother and good luck. ---------- MJ

That is sad. Even they are not migrating, some probably do so they are all still protected.
On a good news, the falcon seems to know your best birds. Maybe you can ask "it" to pick your best team. Just kidding.

Hector... it's sadening & depressing to hear about your loss to a BOP.
With all the time we spend feeding, breeding, cleaning, training and flying these dynamic acrobats of the air.... it's always a disappointment to lose a member of the loft to predators.

Man Hector, you beat me to it. Been getting hit for the last couple of weeks.
Today was by far the worst. Here is a view right over my roof facing north:
Here is the view facing the east:
They went after my squeaks that I'm settling. I don't see quite a few of them but hopefully they'll be back. This was only after another one took one of my squeakers.
I guess we just have to learn to fly around them!

Hector, Bro your saying he's back and the reality is he probally never left. That's the bad thing. In the spring and earley summer they have alot of other food avilible. So they give you alittle break, sometimes we accioate that with migration but for you guys there near the city those falcons dont leave,, They were created by some brillant people to help erraticate the wild pigeon population,, but instead they find you rollers. Its a bad deal, and super unfair as I live in the true migratory bird belt, middle of the woods and I diont get hit like youguys, the people like you near the city should have a break longer than me. This problem you have has been created, just type "Falconcam" on google you will see what imean.. That mans problem always trying to fix somthin, just look at the killerbee,, I hope it gets better for you Bro...Truly Booker... ---------- "Home of the Ghost Town Roller" K.C.R.C

Yes, I am aware that they are not falcons, but the cause the same problem nonetheless. These are all redtails. I was hit by a cooper two days ago, held the birds in and now I have redtails. I'll try to switch up my fly times and days to confuse them but I can't afford to lose birds everytime I let them out. Missing about 8 squeakers right now from this morning.
