well i have a pair of rollers that the cock is lavender and the hen is a red mottle...is it possbile to get red bars and lavender babies???

I don,t thank so, If the hen were a red spangle but I don,t thank mottle.I thank mottle comes from grizzle spangle comes from res red?JDA

Actually Joe I think that it is the opposite. Mottle comes from the res red and spangle comes from the grizzle. To answer your original question XRollers I believe you have to have both birds have baring in the background in order to get bars. ahh i c...i guess its not possible if they arent. well so far the babies have been mostly brown checks w/f or just brown checks.

XRollers they are most likely red checks and red check w/f. The chance of you having brown checks is highly unlikely due to that being such a rare color in rollers. Color terminology in pigeons isnt always what they appear. Also if the young have grey feathers under the tail and rump they are ash red checks. well i guess its red check then and not brown checks oh well im not a color expert becuz they look brown to me...
