i had my young birds on 16% feed they were spinning great very fast a frequent but the stayed fly miles away so i decided to change there feed to 11% not as much portien as
the 16% now since i made this change my birds are hardly performing mostly strait flying ,what is in the feed that encourge the birds to spin and do anyone think i should go back to the 16

I will have young bird teams that get very active but they tend to go flat and become straight flyers for months. Some roll here and there but I think it is a normal behavior for them to slow down during summer and then they mature and handle the roll much better by fall. I dont think the feed made them stop rolling just the phase they are in. Bill

I agree with Bill. I think that if you're changing feed, you should do it gradually...just my thought...good luck.

Give them rest for a few.

jnyce.....young birds need all the vitamins and protien they can get. I would put them back on the 16% feed, until they are at least 6-9 mo old, or maybe be longer depending on your family.. Then you can regulate their feed. At least this is what I do. It seems to be working for me.. All you can do is try it again.
